A giant bone: a gigantic symbol of a generous donation
A giant bone measuring around 2 metres in length is a gigantic symbol of a generous donation from Fressnapf and its private label MultiFit to Tiertafel Deutschland e. V., in the form of pet food worth 60,000 euros. Fressnapf spokesman Achim Schütz and Jörg Dräbert, Managing Director of the Düsseldorf Fressnapf stores, handed over the bone at the DogWalk in Düsseldorf on 5th May.

Golden Schau Schau for “Autumn biker”
The Fressnapf marketing team and Hamburg agency BrawandRieken are celebrating the original “Mach glücklich, was dich glücklich macht” (make happy what makes you happy) campaign again. The “autumn biker”, the advertisement motif where a motorcyclist takes his dog for a “walk” in his sidecar through an autumn landscape, was chosen as “Best Print Advertisement with Animals” and received the Golden Schau Schau 2012. Fressnapf product managers for the private label MORE4DOGS were delighted to get bronze for the Foodbar Dualo Ambiente in the category “Most Imaginative Product for Pets”.

Following a police operation, Fressnapf donates to help smuggled puppies
Specialty chain Fressnapf has the well-being of 92 puppies at heart. The police rescued the puppies from a van near Nuremberg and took them to the local animal shelter. As emergency care, Fressnapf and its private labels AniOne and PetBalance are donating Nuremberg animal shelter 100 fluffy fleece blankets, 100 fabric toy bones and puppy milk, quickly and without red tape. “We decided to help as soon as we heard about the plight of the puppies in Nuremberg. We hope that they will make a speedy recovery and will soon be rehomed to animal lovers”, says Fressnapf spokesman Achim Schütz.

Competition: Fressnapf searches for animal calendar stars
The specialty chain Fressnapf, number 1 for pet supplies, is starting the ultimate Facebook appeal “Kalenderstars 2013”: Anybody with photogenic fish, hip hamsters or cool cats at home can take part in this competition to find the most beautiful photographs. The winners of the “dog”, “cat” and “other animals” categories will be the stars of the Fressnapf animal calendar 2013. This campaign gives customers and Fressnapf fans the chance to show off their pet's best side to the world for the first time and possibly even turn them into celebrities.

For lovebirds, every day is Valentine’s Day!
In some places, registry offices stay open a couple of hours longer especially for Valentine’s day, 14th February, so that lots of couples can say “I do” on this special day for lovers. These partnerships do not always live up to what the man and woman promise each other, that is to love one another until the end of their days. In Germany, around half of all marriages end in divorce. Lovebirds, which are not a type of person but rather a species of parrot, the genus agapornis, set a much better example of how to deal with relationships. Shortly after reaching sexual maturity, the birds look for a partner who they will stay with for life. "That is why they are known as lovebirds”, explains Achim Schütz, spokesman of specialty chain Fressnapf.
